Call for Action

Friends in the IPL-DMV network,   On Tuesday, March 21, our partners at Third Act are coordinating 70+ demonstrations across the country with a clear message: Stop the Dirty Banks that are funding the fossil fuel industry!    Interfaith Power & Light (DC.MD.NoVA) invites communities of faith and spirit to join us at Franklin Park (1332 I St NW) in Washington, DC from 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM as we raise our voices alongside Third Act’s community of folks over the age of sixty in calling on Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, and Wells Fargo to stop pouring 3 trillion dollars into fossil fuel combustion. Schedule: 9:30 am - IPL-DMV convenes a multi-faith prayer circle 10 am - A solemn Walk of Hope around the banks 11:15 am - Rally featuring Bill McKibben, Ben Jealous, and our own Robin Lewis, followed by lunch and bank switching 12:45 pm - A rowdy March of Action, culminating with a … 1:30 pm - Rocking Chair Rebellion and direct action, between Chase & Wells Fargo

We encourage you to come wearing religious headwear, clerical collars, stoles, T-shirts, and any other garb that celebrates our religious communities’ participation.
